A Taste of Mango, Chloe Abrahams’ first feature film, is a gripping, hypnotic and intensely personal meditation on family, memory, identity, violence and love. In the center are three extraordinary women: the mother of director Rozan; his grandmother Jean; and the director herself. Their stories, sometimes difficult and sometimes joyful, testify to the complex and ever-changing nature of heritage, as well as to how we hurt and protect those we love.
