Chronology
This documentary chronicles the lives of a group of young Egyptian girls from a small, very conservative village in Upper Egypt who formed an all-female acting troupe despite rejection from their families. It’s an incredible film, I really felt seen, relatable, emotionally moving and most of the time I felt like this is me in one way or another, it’s so touching! I can feel their struggles, fears and dreams, how it’s so hard for them to even dream about it, how they are so brave to follow their dreams even though it’s so hard for them in their conservative and restricted community… I absolutely LOVE this! The singer’s voice made me cry just listening to it. The cast is so real, so authentic that I feel like I can easily find them anywhere, I watched it once but I will go to the cinema again and watch it. I would really like to see something else from them.
