A landowner, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as a middleman between exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights in order to lease those rights to the company they represent.

Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases, so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, housing for workers (man camp), oversee the assembly of the digging machinery, and the drilling of the well site itself, especially in remote locations. They are also, in part, troubleshooters, problem-solvers, and facilitators.
Landman is another hit in a long line of hits for Taylor Sheridan
This show has everything you want from a good show: lots of drama, action, twists, even a little comedy, etc. It’s obviously very well written because everything Sheridan does is, but it also has an incredible cast. It stars the incredible Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, and more.
Same goes for Hamm
Billy Bob Thornton was born to play this role, and he’s absolutely fantastic here. I’d be very surprised if he wasn’t nominated for an Emmy for his performance. In addition to being very well written and acted, it’s also very well shot.
Sheridan has a lot of great shows under her belt and Landman is one of the best
It looks like it’s going to be around for a long time and I’m here to see it.
