Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid later became an autofiction writer, while Martha became a war reporter. Living conditions separated them. After years without contact, they find themselves in an extreme crisis.
